About Wave Industries
Wave Industries Pty Ltd was formed by Carl Harris and Ian Schmahmann in October 2014 to develop innovative measurement and control products for environmental, safety as well as general industrial applications.
Wave Industries is a private corporation owned by the Schmahmann and Harris families.
Our own product range is mainly concentrated around:
- Food safety and helping you maintain paperless and efficient HACCP records.
- Personnel safety such as freezer shutdown systems.
- Plant safety such as gas leak detection and shutdown systems
- Energy monitoring and efficiency improvement to reduce energy consumption
- Remote access and management of process measurement and control data
Not only do we provide the measurement, control and communication products, we also provide the sensors that measure the processes as well as the interfaces to the controlled devices. Furthermore, we can offer complete turnkey solutions including installation, programming and configuration.
Ian Schmahmann – Director
In 1985, armed with an electronics engineering degree and several years’ experience in process control, Ian formed Mann Industries Pty Ltd which grew to become one of the most successful and reputable Australian designers and manufacturers of industrial instrumentation.
Mann products were sold Australia wide and exported to Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Korea, The Philippines, Taiwan, The UK and USA.
Throughout this time Ian managed the research teams at Mann which included hardware, firmware, and software engineers as well as technical draughtsmen and technicians. Ian was intimately involved in all aspects of Mann products including specifying, designing, manufacturing, marketing and sales. Mann was regarded as the Australian market leader in the field of industrial instrumentation with its state-of-the-art microprocessor based instruments.
Mann sold to Weidmuller in 2004. Since then, Ian has been in high demand helping companies turn ideas into profitable products.
As Wave Industries’ Technical Director and with his solid reputation for innovative solutions and an ability to resolve complex technical problems, Ian is certain to provide the best solutions for your applications.
Carl Harris- Director
Purchasing his first Wave solder machine on 1988 Carl Harris started a manufacturing facility to support a small group of customers with special needs that could not be serviced elsewhere in Australia.
From these humble beginnings Wavetronics has grown into one of the largest electronics manufacturers in Australia, employing around 100 people with six surface lines and an enviable growing customer base.
Carl has a reputation in the market for providing advice and support for his existing and new customers and is a long term manufacturing partner of choice for significant OEMs.
Wavetronics’ quality endorsed manufacturing facilities are one of the largest and certainly the most modern and high tech in Australia. We have been manufacturing since 1989 and we have the engineering expertise and the resources to provide you with the back-up you need and expect to be able to successfully roll out your product to the world.
Engineering Team and Technical Support
Wave Industries is in the process of establishing its own offices internationally to provide the highest level of local technical support and training. Wave Industries has its own in-house research and development team so that we are fully capable of developing our products hardware and software in house. In addition, we have well established and reputable partners who work with us in other areas such as housing design and tooling manufacture.
All of our products are manufactured by our sister company, Wavetronics, which has one of the most modern and reputable assembly lines in the world.
